A Quick Mindfulness Moment

Today has gone by so quickly. When you think about the rest of your week, how do you feel? Do you feel confident in your approach to achieving your goals? Do you sense any anxious thoughts or tension in your body?

If it’s too much to think about the next day, let’s start with where you are right now with this quick mindfulness exercise.

To get started, please be sure to find a comfortable place, away from any distractions. If you are reading this on your laptop or phone, use this time wisely and avoid clicking open your tabs or checking your newsfeed on social media.

  1. Set a timer for 2 minutes.

  2. Close your eyes and focus on your breath going in and out.

  3. Open your eyes and reflect on this exercise.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how do you feel about this exercise? 1= This exercise was extremely difficult (I opened my eyes within seconds), 5 = This exercise was very relaxing

If you rated this exercise a 1 or 2, try using this exercise as a mindfulness practice for the next couple of days.

As you think about your workload for this week, don’t get discouraged or frustrated with your thoughts and emotions when they arise.

Be sure to acknowledge them and allow them to pass. You’ll find that you have more energy and creativity to strategize how you want to achieve success this week.
